I was thinking about this the other day. And I’ve been trying to figure this out but I just can’t. So if you figure it out please comment me and let me know.

 I wonder… why is the abbreviation for christmas xmas? I mean there is NO “x” in christmas. It would be different if it was cmas, but no it has to be xmas… WHY???

Well I’m taking a shot at this and guessing but I know it is totally wrong. I think because originally ,to christians, Christmas was Jesus’ birthday and because Christ is in the word christmas, people maybe thought that they can put any type of God or whatever in the place of the “x” i guess. WOW!! I’m wrong!!

Wait. THe comment above me says it was from Airhead101. She doesnt hvae a dughter…? ANYWAYS. I think the whole “Xmas” thing came frmo some lazy person who didnt want to spell out the whole word. Maybe its short for like Christ-mas. Criss-mass, Cross-mas. Maybesomeone just wanted to shorten it to be XMas…like crisscross? Wow I have no idea!
